Frequently Asked Questions

Custom foot orthotics are prescription medical devices that you wear inside your shoes to correct biomechanical foot issues, such as problems with how you walk, stand, or run. They can also help with medical conditions such as diabetes, plantar fasciitis, bursitis, shin splints, arthritis, knee, hip, and foot and back pain.

The process involves a biomechanical assessment. During your initial appointment, we will assess your hip alignment, strength, foot posture, joint range of motion and much more. Once you have been assessed, your Podiatrist will tailor a personalised treatment plan. This may include exercises, shockwave therapy, dry needling and/or custom foot orthotics.

Custom foot orthoses are designed to address biomechanical problems related to your foot. Every foot is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all for custom foot orthoses.

We put our feet through a lot every day, whether it’s general work duties, walking, running exercises or heavy loads. A custom foot orthotic prescription will be different for each person. Still, our primary goal of the devices is to address biomechanical abnormalities that may contribute to foot pain, increase function and decrease the overloading of soft tissues.

Using our state-of-the-art 3D scanner, we can capture imaging of the foot with precise accuracy, and our Podiatrists can prescribe highly sophisticated custom foot orthotics for you.

Once our Podiatrists have completed your imaging and created your
customised script, they will send it off for manufacturing. This process can take up to two weeks. Once we receive your orthotics, we will call you to book an appointment for a fitting.

Sometimes slight adjustments may have to be made to the orthotics for ultimate comfort, so another appointment will be made 2-4 weeks after fitting for a review.
